Kory has been itchin to teach Madie how to ride her bike for weeks now. Since the barnhouse has no sidewalks, it has been a life skill that Madie has never learned. No one seemed to mind until Kory found out that all the 6 year olds we know can ride a bike. It reminds me of the time when he realized that Madie could not do the Jonny Jumpy and the other kids her age (9 months) were all doing it. We were at Toys R Us with in hours buying a Jonny Jumpy and sure enougm by sunset she was enjoying the fun of the Jonny.
Sunday was amazing weather so it was perfect for bike riding. Let me tell you...it was a workout. You had to run beside the mini bike in a hunched position holding her tight enough to provide all the balance for the ride. It was work. For the first 1/2 Jenna and I were on the 4-wheeler riding beside her taking pictures. You can tell Jenna enjoyed the weather and the sunshine so much it put her right to sleep. Try driving a 4-wheeler holding a sleeping child from falling off, driving, giving it gas and taking photos! I am not sure who had the harder job!
Madie did amazing and picked up on it quickly and by the time we were back by the house she was doing great. She could go about 15 seconds before falling. (seems short but it was amazing) She was super proud of herself and she got a boost from all our cheering!
God also brought a turtle our way not a minute too late. Madie had fallen several times and was starting to get frustrated and the turtle rescue got her mind off all the bumps and falls. The turtle provided a ton of entertainment. Jenna even woke up with the excitement of the turtle! Kory helped Mr. Turtle ride the bike which the girls thought was incredibly funny!

The point is...Thank God for helmets!
